Catclaw Sensitive Briar

Mimosa microphylla

Description:

A rambling vine, with these button-like flowers about 1 inch in diameter sparsely scattered along the length. Vine armed with prickers. Leaves opposite, and pinately compound. Will close quickly if you brush up against them.

Habitat:

Along the trail from the main spring head to the spring at Fern Hammock- an equally spectacular spring. (But it's got gators, so no swimming!)
