Common Jay

Graphium doson

Description:

This is one of those delightful species, having a restless, straight and jerky flight. It is active throughout the day and constantly on the move and it rarely settles down. The males congregate in large numbers at roadside puddles or around the pools that form in dried up river beds. The females are seen circling the larval host plants in order to lay eggs.

Habitat:

Knuckles Mountain Range
