Canada Goose is a large bird. Adult Canada geese have grayish brown wings, backs, sides and breasts. Black tails, feet, legs, bills, and heads. They have long black necks with distinctive white cheek patches that cover part of the throat.
Tundras, marshes, fields and shorelines. Lakes, bays and lagoons. Man made bodies of water. Fields and open places with grasses and water near by. In urban areas Canada Geese may be observed at golf courses, parks and residential water front areas. Water treatment lagoons and shorelines.
The Canada Geese in our neighborhood frequent the tide flats and visit abandoned timber fields near the water. A waste water lagoon attracts the geese also. The geese are very shy and seem to prefer some distance from humans.
