There was a peaceful atmosphere this morning when I was looking for birds at a bird watching hut at the edge of a fen called 'De Banen', Nederweert-Eind, The Netherlands. It was around 9.15 AM when an adult Common Kingfisher swiftly crossed my view. A couple of minutes later I spotted the beautiful creature a few meters away from the hut. Astonishing!
