Dung beetles

Canthon spp.

Description:

These are also known as "tumblebugs" and are known for their dung-rolling.

Habitat:

Gravel county road between cattle pastures/oil leases

Notes:

These poor beetles were having a heck of a time navigating the rocky terrain. Once my friend and I took our photos, we carefully moved them and their dung ball off the road to a smoother location in the pasture.
