Tortoise leaf beetle

Paropsisterna sp.

Description:

A new beetle for me! This shiny leaf beetle has eight orange dots on the elytra. The pronotum is solid black and therefore matches no species that I can find.

Habitat:

This was found under the loose bark of a manna gum tree. It had fallen into the soil when we noticed it so is a bit dirty.

I cannot confirm the ID on this one but I suspect it is Paropsisterna octosignata which is in the correct range

Yes Mark. It was found under bark with a humungous huntsman. It fell to the ground so I photographed it on some leaves for better control. It wanted some extra props.
