Northern Red Salamander

Description:

Bright orange with black spots. Color and pattern vary with age. (Adult) Pupils are yellow. 16-17 costal grooves on body. Length: 4 inches (10.16 cm) Moderately large and stout species. Found under medium-sized rock and leaves. Does not have lungs. Respires through skin.

Habitat:

Open woodlands at the edge of a natural pond fed by small natural spring.

Notes:

Found 3 so far ranging in size 4-6 inches
