Aquila sp.
Raptor, for sure. Huge wing span when it flew.
We were sitting in a restaurant inside a garden called Vidyadhar ka Bagh which is just outside Jaipur. My sister suddenly exclaimed.." Look, a raptor!" It was sitting on a tree with the hills as a backdrop and extremely far away. It looked like a Black Kite from the distance but when it flew away, we marveled at its wing span and I knew it was not a Black Kite (milvus migrans).
My avian expert friend says this is either a Tawny Eagle or a Steppe Eagle. I checked. Both are found in the area. Can someone help please? It was very, very far away. At the end of my camera's 40 X zoom.
