Variegated Meadowhawk Dragonfly

Sympetrum corruptum

Description:

A medium-sized dragonfly with a slender abdomen. The abdomen is usually bright red, pink, and golden brown. Females are not a bright as males. This ones abdomen is golden brown.

Habitat:

On a dry seed head at the edge of a path through a city park. There is a large retention pond at the park.
