Unicorn Tang or Surgeon Fish

Acanthuridae

Description:

A silvery fish with a long trunk like nose. The horn of the Unicorn Tang develops when the fish is about 6" long. Colour is silver as a juvenile and turns olive green as it gets older. It's shape also changes from oval to bullet shaped.

Habitat:

Spotted at Seaworld on the Gold Coast.

Notes:

Love interesting looking animals and fish and this is one of them.
