Whorled Milkweed

Asclepias verticillata

Description:

Order: Gentianales > Family: Apocynaceae. Native to much of eastern North America, from southern Canada to New Mexico and Florida. Definitely a smaller species of milkweed, t is still a prolific bloomer when Summer rolls around and I am to understand the flower color is a bit variable.
