Northern Leopard Frog

Habitat:

Bolton Flats Wildlife Management Area has plenty of marshes and grassy fields. This was one of many Leopard Frogs that hopped in front of me on the paths.

I wish pickerel frogs were more common here, I rarely see them!

Ashley, thanks for catching that. Pickerel is more common around here, and I didn't pay enough attention to the ID.

Hey Tom, this is totally a leopard frog haha. Pickerel frogs have large, squarish blotches. And the blotches usually touch or are all very close to touching each other. This guy has scattered circular blotches. Although not as good of a character, the color of the dorsolateral folds is different too. They're brown/tan on a pickerel where a leopard frog has more golden colored ones :)
