Description:

Wings dark with yellow to pale crescentlike marks (lunula) along margin. Male has greenish iridescent wash over outer 1/2 of hind wings, female bluish in same area. (Therefore 3 pics are female).

Habitat:

Moist clay/sand of mixed forest. Range Eastern half of USA. This one seen in Cushing Mem. Park in Canton, Ga 30114 on 6/15/13.

Notes:

Reportedly often seem in groups around mud puddles in the South.
