Duttaphrynus melanostictus
Warty skin. Prominent bean-shaped parotid gland.
This one had found a sweet spot. There was an opening in the boundary wall of a house for the garden path to be swept and the water to spill into the rainwater drain just outside the house. Insects such as ants use the opening as a thoroughfare from the grassy verge into the garden. The person cleaning the area pulled some grasses that were obscuring the opening and hindering the water flow. I saw a movement and initially thought it might be a snake...but when I looked closely it was a small, sub-adult (judging by size) toad...feasting on the ants.
