The Coneheaded katydid has a green body and is well hidded in green grass. This one was 2.5 inches in length. They are named after the unique head part which is a rounded cone that projects beyond the basal antennal segments. This one has long, narrow and could fly for about 6 feet.
This was found in our backyard habitat. The habitat, shown in picture 3 is well landscaped with plants, shrubs, trees and grass which make a desirable restaurant for the Katydid.
