Description:

Large fly. Fuzzy black with a yellow thorax and face. Smokey wings. These can often be mistaken for bumble bees. They feed on other flying arthropods. Found deceased on a trail.

Habitat:

Temperate woodland. Rockwood Park, Virginia.
