Greater burdock / Grote klit

Arctium lappa

Description:

See links.

Habitat:

Often along roads and rivers.

Notes:

If you want to introduce this wild edible in your garden, you may want to know that one plant can produce 400,000 seeds. So don't forget to eat the burdock before it blooms or goes into seed. Or collect the seeds in autumn and sprout them for winter salads, as you would do with alfalfa.
