Willow Shield

Description:

Growing on log in coniferous area. A beautiful, thick, pink spore print unfortunately I don't have a photo of spore print unless hidden somewhere in archives... The forth photo compares the size of the biggest one I found with a £1 coin. Entoloma sp.? Pluteus salicinus? I went back 8.11.14 and there were similar fruitbodies growing along with Kuehneromyces mutabilis. The stem was a similar colour and when left for a few hours after handling, the stem towards the base showed signs of slight blue and greenish discolouration which could indicate it is P. salicinus containing small amounts of psilocin (I believe the chemical that is responsible for the blue discolouration)
