Spittlebug

Description:

Tiny Spittlebug of about 5 mm in length with very striking coloration of yellow and black stripes. What initially looks like the head is actually the tail. The last picture was taken in the same place on August 22, 2015. Family Cercopidae.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
