Wavy-lined Emerald

Synchlora aerata

Description:

This caterpillar adorns itself with flower parts as camouflage to protect itself from predators, so I'm sure that its appearance changes depending upon the flower on which it is feeding. The adult is a small pale green moth.

Habitat:

I photographed this caterpillar in a recently restored grassland.
