Chalk-browed Mockingbird

Mimus saturninus

Description:

The green grasslands and nearby hills were full of chalk-browed Mockingbirds, or "Calandrias" as we call them. They could easily be spotted standing on trees, posts, wires, rocks, that is to say: everywhere. Probably this is the reason they may be found in a great variety of habitats and live all around Uruguay. According to the guide written by Alejandro Olmos (2011:388) these birds imitate the calls of other birds. They are omnivorous.

Habitat:

All around Uruguay and they are also found in Bolivia, paraguay, Brazil and Argentina.
