Soft-winged Flower Beetle

Description:

Tiny Beetle of about 4 mm in length. It was bright orange with metallic dark green markings on the elytra. Some species have peculiar antennae with the basal segments enlarged. Family Melyridae.

Habitat:

Forest and secondary growth under the San Cristobal Bridge on the Highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 15, 1,500 meters.
