Orthomeria kangi
The smaller of the few Orthomeria species I have come across, the females are just around 4 cm in size. She is all black in color, including the eyes with bright red wing cover. Her wings are small and she does not fly. Orthomeria are from the subfamily of Aschiphasmatinae which has a defensive mechanism, they can spray chemicals with foul smell from 2 glands behind their head
Found exclusively on 2 types of tree, one is a type of Ficus, not sure the name of plant of the second. This specie is most likely endemic to Philippines.
