Description:

Gorgeously colorful jewel bug also called the Lychee Shield Bug.

Notes:

This bug is one of the most conspicuous jewel bugs, often brilliantly colored, exhibiting a wide range of iridescent metallic hues that change with the view angle. They are spotted occasionally in our yard.

We also find them in more colors - my previous spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/213... and I've seen more on PN :)

Thank you, sintija :) Love these bugs...they are most conspicuous on the broad silk cotton tree leaves.
