Harmonia axyridis
These mating ladybugs are the same species! The male is a melanic variety with a red, single spot on each elytra. This variety is less common in the US. The female is the more typical variety seen here.

Wow! When I saw the male, I thought is was from the Chilocorus genus mating with something else! Very cool!
