Striped Albatross (male)

Appias libythea

Description:

White butterfly with black edgings to wings and prominent veins which are the hallmark of the male of the species. https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/40... (female)

Habitat:

My office garden.

Notes:

The gardeners came running to tell me there were many species of butterflies on the flower beds...and there were...at least 4-5 different species. It was funny to see them come and try to sit on another butterfly....I thought it was a sort of "teasing" behavoiur because there were plenty of flowers to go around...and the ones that got the other butterfly to fly away never used the flower it was sitting on anyway! I got a photo of tehfemale too...but had it not been for the Wikipedia link...I'd have thought it was another species altogether.
