Description:

The cap is white, and had many fine scales (look closely on left picture). The mushroom starts as hemispherical in shape (left picture before flattening out with maturity (right picture). The mature cap approximately 3 inches in diameter. The gills are initially pink, then red-brown and finally a dark brown. The stipe (stem) is predominantly white with no rings.

Habitat:

Periodically damp area with decaying stump of wood nearby.
