Description:

Desert Firetail is a tiny, 1 in or 2.5 cm, damselfly. Despite the bright scarlet color of the male they can be easily overlooked. Female Desert Firetail is a washed-out version of the male, with color patterns ranging from rusty-red to pale orange.

Habitat:

Ravine with ponding water in a new urban park.
