Not a bad ID indeed, but the markings are slightly different in Parnassus.

Hi Mence! Parnassius mnemosyne has two black spots on the forewing, and shaded areas at the edge of the forewing as well. The wing shape is also slightly different. Aporia crataegi is quite common, even at altitude. I agree with Aporia crataegi :-)

Could it be Parnassius mnemosyne? http://www.biopix.com/parnassius-mnem... Parnassius mnemosyne is more common in the area where I spotted it.
