Common Gum Tree Shield Bug

Habitat:

Sun bathing on the lower trunk of a large Angophora. Also found on Red Gums and other smooth barked eucalypt. When disturbed they spiral up the trunk

Notes:

5th instar I think I have a couple of this species. They are common all year around
