Caterpillar

Description:

The first larva was about 3 cm long, looking in a very prepupal condition. The body is mottled gray with white stripes and grey and black spines. The second larva was smaller and darker with a redder head capsule but the body pattern and spine pattern is the same. It is probably a younger instar.

Habitat:

Heavy vegetation, km 11.5, Highway between Chiapa de Corzo and San Cristobal de Las Casas, 865 meters.
