Galactomyia (Trichopoda Subgenus Galactomyia)

Description:

These are small, brightly colored flies in the Americas that congregate on flowers, feeding on nectar. The vestigial hind wings are covered with yellow scales and there is a fringe of hairs on the hind legs.
