Corvus coronoides
The Australian Crow or Torresian Crow is a large glossy black crow with short throat hackles (feathers). The feathers of the head and neck have white bases. The eye is white with a fine blue eye-ring. Immature birds are duller black with a brown eye. When landing, this species characteristically shuffles its wings.
Kimberley Marsh
Incredible site to see fifty or so crows commanding fresh meat. They dominated the local kites which are bigger. I can see why a group of crows is called a murder. The two species of crow and three ravens that occur in Australia are similar in appearance, with black glossy plumage, white eyes in adults and overlapping in size and behaviour, so there are some difficulties for the observer.

Thanks! Crows are very alert and clever. In Queensland they catch cane toads and flip them over to avoid the poison glands.
Nice sharp eyes for the deadly crows..
Corvids are such amazing birds!! Great spotting!
