Aquarius remigis
About 2 cm long, typical representative of Gerridae family: narrow elongated body with four hind legs very long and thin; and short and stubby forelegs, which are used to hold the prey; and a sharp rostrum, used to pierce and suck the prey.
Here, seen on a semi-stagnating water of a local marshland; (protected marshlands or Maraîs de Bidonne), in lowlands around lake Geneva (lac Leman), between Alps and Jura mountain ranges.
Both photos show mating.
