Gulf Fritillary Butterfly

Agraulis vanillae

Description:

Agraulis vanillae is a medium sized butterfly with a wingspan that ranges from 6.5 to 9.5 cm. The underside is a collage of irregular silvery white spots with a reddish orange and black background. The upperside of the wings is orange with black markings.

Habitat:

Spotted on wildflowers in a moist meadow at the Stuttgart Municipal Airport.

Mauna there is so much untouched beauty in Arkansas. I really enjoy exploring its many different habitats. I lived there for twenty years and now I come back to visit family once a year.
