Blue-violet flowers bearded with tufts of hairs on the lateral petals; approximately 0.75 inches long; bilaterally symmetrical; 5 sepals; 5 petals; 5 stamens. Leaves heart-shaped, on short stalks. Leaf blade smooth or essentially so, or with scattered pubescence.
Plant growing on bank above year-round drainage to the Appalachee River.
