Lappet Moth (caterpillars)

Description:

Lasiocampidae; Pinarinae; Streblote; Streblote castanea (Swinhoe, 1892). This species of Lappet Moth has been spotted several times in our backyard. Every one of the spottings has been made on the same tree, a Moringa oleifera. It seems to have become the favourite host for this moth, in our backyard.

Habitat:

These Lappet Moth Caterpillars were spotted in our backyard. They were on a Ben Oil Tree (Moringa oleifera) locally called Malungay. Plant identification - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Malunggay.h......
