Sunflower

Description:

This flower is referred to as a sunflower because it looks like a sun and its head follows the sun's course during the day; the flower buds will face east in the morning and follow the sun as it moves during the day. They were urbane in North America as far back as 3000 BCE, when they were developed for food, medicine, dye, and oil.

Habitat:

While they typically grow more in Kansas and Minnesota, I found this one in one of my friend's everyday garden. This sunflower was found growing near the highway because of the types of air they need.
