Lybius dubius
Looks similar to Double-toothed Barbet, Lybius bidentatus, but has longer beard,
Walk-in aviary
This is another "overseas" bird in KL, this time from Africa.
This is interesting, I got my information from the material available at the aviary but they may have had both species there, they do look rather similar but mine does have the longer beard. It seems I only had the one photograph. I will make the change.
To me, this looks more like a Bearded Barbet, rather than Double-toothed. Double-toothed barbet is beardless, no bristles around the beak. Another diagnostic difference is black band on red chest, present on Bearded Barbet, but absent on red chest of Double-toothed. The black band seems to be hidden by that fruit, even though the beginning of it seems to be just there...
