Serinus serinus
Male. This little bird never stops its sharp, spluttering calls. Always singing from the top of trees or at very conspicuous twigs, sometimes in short song-flights. The song is a rapid trill zirrr-r-r-r-r. Easy to identify because its bright yellow forehead, underside and rump and dark green crescent around the cheeks. The tail is forked and the bill stubby.
Spotted at a riverine forest in a small town. Segovia
