wouldn't a National Wildlife Reserve be the same as a 'Park' ?

Malcolm is correct. Although the natural and original habitat is a useful piece of information, we encourage you to document the habitat where you actually saw the organism.

Perhaps I should have referred you to paragraph 4 of the FAQ section - "if possible please state the habitat where you saw the organism".

In my opinion the Habitat field is used to record the actual habitat where you actually saw the spotting, which in the case of organisms seen in the wild can be very important in building the complete picture. There are many instances where organisms turn up in unexpected places outside what has been deemed their normal habitat.
Details of usual habitats can be obtained from the relevant links in the URL field when they have been added.
Perhaps we can have some clarification from Peter or Yasser.

Please do not use Park or Zoo in Habitat...find information...where these species originated.
