Achilles Morpho

Morpho achilles

Description:

large butterfly black with blue iridescent bands

Habitat:

rainforest

Notes:

I was waiting out a rainstorm in my tent during a trek in Brazil when my guide handed me this butterfly through the little window in my tent. It flew around my tent for a little while and then relaxed. I let it out after I took the photo.
