Heavy Jumping Spider

Hyllus Semicupreus

Description:

Hyllus is a genus of the spider family Salticidae (jumping spiders). Most species occur in Africa and Madagascar, many in Australasia up to India. H. insularis is found in Greece and Iran; however, it is considered misplaced in this genus. These are quite heavy jumpers often growing well over 1cm.

Habitat:

Wastelands and parks.
