Congratulations Arlanda, love this flower!
Congrats Arlanda. Great to see a flower as SOTW. Still haven't worked out how it develops though. ;-)
Beautiful find Angel, congrats on the well deserved SOTW and thanks for sharing
Congratulations arlanda, this gorgeous inflorescence has been voted Spotting of the Week! On top of esthetic criteria, your spotting was appreciated for the species' taxonomy, spectacular maturation and relative endemic nature.
"This stunning mature inflorescence with beautiful radial symmetries has been voted Spotting of the Week! Lomelosia simplex is a close relative of pincushion flowers (Scabiosa sp.) and belongs to the honeysuckle family (Caprifoliaceae). The epithet "simplex" means simple in Latin, referring to the flower stem which is usually unbranched. Lomelosia simplex is found throughout the south west of Europe and north west Africa".

Superb ! Yes, like Maria I wouldn't have thought it belonged to the honeysuckle family. Thanks for the notes.
What a beautiful plant/flower! I would not have guessed it is in the honeysuckle family.
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated Angel!
It should be in your Life and Mathematics mission ;-)
