Description:

Blue-violet, not fragrant flowers. Stems about 40 cm. This iris is uniquely pollinated by ants, as the flowers secrete nectar at the base of the petals.

Habitat:

Dry grassland on the edge of deciduous forest.

Notes:

Native to Italy, Balkans, Turkey and Ukraine.
