Bufo americanus americanus
The Eastern American Toad (B. a. americanus) is a medium-sized toad usually ranging in size from 5–9 cm (2.0–3.5 in); record 11.1 centimetres (4.4 in). The colour and pattern is somewhat variable. Skin colour can change depending on humidity, stress, and temperature. Colour changes range from yellow to brown to black.

I spotted this toad in my shed. I coaxed it outside into the light for a better photo.

Thanks Neil. Most of my spottings were taken before I discovered Noah, but everything I have spotted since (and will be spotting in the future) is from multiple angles, especially if I don't know what it is.
It would have been nice if it was a Fowler's toad since they are rare in our area of Ontario. They are designated as Vulnerable in Ontario and Canada

Thanks Neil. It had a spotted belly so I don't think its Fowler's but could be a hybrid like you said but I'll just stick with American Toad.
American Toad (Bufo americanus) most likely or Fowler's Toad (Bufo woodhousii fowleri)? Hard to tell as their distributions look like they overlap at your spotting location, and they also hybridize.
