Varied Thrushes occur in the Pacific northwest from Alaska to California. Occasionally they get lost like this one and end up in the northeast during the winter.
Lovely! Like KarenSaxton, I look forward to these in my gardens every winter here in southwestern BC. Here is a link to my snow-eating Varied Thrush! http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/855... I awake each late winter and early spring morning to the one tone flute song of the Varied Thrush:)
Ashley, these Varied Thrushes are a thrill to see and this was my lifer 10 years ago. The picture is ok, but is cropped a lot and you wouldn't want to see it if I enlarged it:-)

Thanks Karen and Kathleen. The Varied Thrush is a great bird, I wish they showed up here more often.
