Zygogramma signatipennis
This species overlaps with that of Zygogramma piceicollis (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/467...) and in fact both "species" were found on this plant together and in some cases even seemed to be mating. Two additional species, Calligrapha vigintimaculata and Calligrapha sp. (maybe C. diversa) are also found in the same area (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/707... and http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/360...). This may mean that the whole group needs to be studied at a genetic level. According to Project Noah member, thaptor, mexican species of Zygogramma will soon be returned to the genus Calligrapha (see his comments here: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/467....
Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
Thank you thaptor for all your help with all 4 of these species of Calligrapha (and Zygogramma).
