Mycena sp.
Tiny mushroom approx 2-3mm diameter of the cap. Emits faint glow visible during the night. Usually found on rotting bamboo.
Rainforest
The locals call these 'Cendawan Bulan' which in Malay means Lunar Mushroom.
A mushroom that glows in the dark? How cool is that - wish we had them here. Nice find!
Thank you my fellow spotters for the kind word.
@jansonjones: yes I felt the same way too when I first saw it. I hear deeper in the jungle from where this was found, a larger cluster of these fungi could be found.
Really nice. Really, really nice. I mean, damn. That's really, really, really nice!
very nice! i was able to observe a similar mushroom... Mycena chloropus... but your photo is far greater!!! nice shot!

Beautyful picture! I research also on the luminescent mushroom, but another genus called "Neonothopanus nambi" found in Thailand. My Ph.D. syudent just completed her Doctor Degree.
What a beautiful photo - and a beautiful specimen! Nature is full of surprises.
This is very interesting, would love to search for them myself on of these days.
BTW, is this the same species with the one reportedly found in Brazil after been missing for some 170 years?
