I am not an expert either. Reliable infos about the Small one are rare and from the size I think it is Melanocerca.

bayucca, you were right so I changed the ID. For the spotting below: I think it may also be melanocera but I am no expert (as you can see :-)

Take a look at the link below. There is a Small Painted Locust on the Galapagos Island, but in my eyes this one lools different to yours (and all the other in my eyes wrongly as Literosa IDed locusts (OK the pictures are a little bit old, but markings are different):
